Alice Sue Schultz, daughter of Louis Joseph and Lydia Isabel Mades Dwiggins was born July 7, 1945 in Alton, IL. She departed this life, April 3, 2017 at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of seventy one years, eight months, and twenty seven days. On April 29, 1977 in Osage Beach, Missouri, Alice Sue Dwiggins was united in marriage to Ronald Francis Schultz. Together they happily shared thirty seven years of marriage. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Lydia Isabel Mades and Louis Joseph Dwiggins, her husband Ronald Schultz, daughter Kerry Powers-Smythe, and two brothers, Robert “Bob” Dwiggins and Albert “Bud” Dwiggins. Survivors include her two sons, Patrick Powers and wife Lisa of Mesquite, Texas, Tom Powers and wife Melanie of Camdenton, Missouri, and daughter Alexandra Assiff (Schultz) and husband Mark of Denver, CO; one step-son, Mark Schultz of Litchfield, Illinois; one step- daughter, Shelly Hobson of Stillwater, Oklahoma; fifteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and two brothers, John Dwiggins and wife Ruth of Godfrey, Illinois, and Tim Dwiggins and wife Kathy of Yorktown, Virginia, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Alice was born and raised in the Alton and Godfrey Illinois area. She was a 1963 graduate of Marquette High School in Alton. She moved to The Lake area in 1976. Alice was deeply devoted to her faith and became a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church after moving to The Lake. In her spare time, Alice used her creative gifts to quilt and craft many other treasures for the people she loved. She was an avid Camdenton Laker fan and was very passionate about her kids, grandkids, and family. Alice was also an active member in her church and community. At St. Anthony's, she was a member of the Crafty Ladies, Ladies Sodality, Grief Support Group, Christ Renews His Parish, and RCIA. You could also find her Saturday evenings or early Sunday mornings leading the congregation in song. In the community, Alice was a member of the Red Hat Society, the local Rock and Mineral club, and she was a volunteer at Lake Regional Hospital. She was also known for her dedication to the preservation of history. She was committed to the Boone-Duden Historical Society and the Hamburg Cemetery Society, both in northern Missouri. Alice was a loving mother, daughter, wife, sister, and grandma; and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments, and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017 in St. Anthony Catholic Church. First visitation will be Friday, April 7, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. A second visitation will be Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. till the time of the service at the church. Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to help assist single parents in the care of the St. Anthony Catholic Church and left at the funeral home or the church.
