Darrell Dietz Darrell Dietz, son of Maurice Dietz and Eva Mae Oehring Raveill, was born, June 26, 1944 in Los Angeles, California. He departed this life, Friday, July 15, 2016, in his home, Climax Springs, Missouri, at the age of seventy-two years, and nineteen days. He was preceded in death by his father, Maurice Dietz and his mother, Eva Mae Raveill (Oehring). Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Michell Dietz age forty-nine of Buckner, Missouri; a son, Dillion Stokes age sixteen of Climax Springs, Missouri; his companion of twenty plus years, Cheryl Stokes of Climax Springs, Missouri; a half-brother, Danny Dietz of Arizona; an ex-wife of thirty years, Patti Dietz of Fairplay, Missouri; two step-sons, Jamie Blankenship and Richard Montoya both of Fairplay, Missouri; four granddaughters, Briana Stewart-Embree age twenty-seven, Madison Stewart age twenty-four, Shelby Wilhelm age eighteen and Peyton Wilhelm age eleven; three great-grandchildren, Avery Embree age five, Ronin Embree age two and Finnley Stecker age one and of course, many, many friends and aquaintences all of whom loved and respected him. Darrell lived in Long Beach, California until the age of twelve, when he moved with his parents to Independence, Missouri where he graduated from Wm Chrisman High School. After college he married Elaine Austin and had his daughter Lisa, while working as a Mechanical Engineer designing for Ford. The marriage ended after six years, when he was drafted at the age of twenty-six years old into the Army. After his discharge from the military, he married Patti Davis and raised Jamie and Richard and later, Lisa too. It was during this period in his life that he began following with his true talent as an artist. He had already established a name for his self and was known nationwide in the automotive paint (show cars, hot rods and motorcycles) industry. In the late seventy’s he opened his own business, Crazy Paint, a custom paint shop, where he capitalized on the trend for conversion vans. In 1997, he retired to the Lake of the Ozarks even though he continued to paint in his smaller shop in Warsaw, Missouri. During this time he divorced and then found Cheryl Stokes. They never married, but raised a together a son, Dillon. He continued with his painting, only now turned his focus on boats. Darrell passed away at his and Cheryl’s home in Climax Springs, Missouri. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. A celebration of Darrell’s life will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Bo Lee's Nevermind Campground at 6pm. Memorial donations may be made to family to help with expenses and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
