Dorothy Rose Van Cleave

Dorothy Rose Van Cleave, daughter of Frederick Briesacher and Julia Layton Briesacher was born September 6, 1924 in Kimmswick, Missouri. She departed this life, August 5, 2020 in Windsor Estates Care Center, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of ninety-five years, ten months and thirty days. On June 17 1943 she was united in marriage to Charles August Van Cleave III in Imperial, Missouri, and to this union three children were born. Together they shared seventy-one years of marriage. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles August Van Cleave III; three brothers, Louis Briesacher, Frederick Briesacher Jr, and Eugene Briesacher; two sisters, Lorraine Briesacher and one in infancy. She is survived by her daughter, Karen & husband Steve Amsler of Festus, Missouri; two sons, Charles & wife Kay Van Cleave of Macks Creek, Missouri and Michael & wife Maryann Van Cleave of Macks Creek, Missouri; a brother, Virgil Briesacher of Columbia, Missouri; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of other relatives and many friends who will all truly miss her. Dorothy was raised in the Kimmswick and Imperial, Missouri areas until moving to Linn Creek, Missouri in 1971. In her spare time Dorothy was an avid bowler and sponsored many teams in leagues and bowled up into her 70’s. Most of all she was a devoted housewife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was very important to her and she cherished her time they spent together. She was a loving and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service from 12:00 to 1:00 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Allee Memorial Gardens, Camdenton, Missouri.
