GEORGE ANTON KUSE God called George Anton Kuse, 70 of Camdenton, Missouri to be with him on January 8, 2009. George died at his home with his wife of fifty-three years and his family at this side. George was born in Forest Park, Illinois on May 4, 1938 to George and Ethel Kuse who preceded him in death. George and Kay were high school sweethearts and married April 9, 1955. Dubuque Packing Company, Dubuque, Iowa was his employer for twenty years before moving to the lake and purchasing Knotty Pine Resort in 1976. They sold the resort in 2006. George had many hobbies and never met a stranger. In his earlier years he was a very active weight lifter. The resort took up most of his time. It was quite a few years before he was able to pursue his hobbies, motorcycling and square dancing. His biggest interest was restoring old cars and he was well respected in the field. He was very involved in the Knights of Columbus at Shrine of St. Patrick Church in Laurie, Missouri. George is survived by his loving wife, Kay and five children, Mike Kuse and wife Lynn of Camdenton, Dennis Kuse and wife Sandy of Camdenton, Karen Kolb and husband Michael of Cincinnati, Christopher Kuse and wife Nancy of Camdenton, and Daniel Kuse of Lebanon and fiancee Denise Simpson of Florissant. Grandchildren are Jennifer Shurtz, Jason Kuse, Shawn Kuse, Jamie Kuse, Aaron Kolb, Amanda Kolb, Kali Kuse, Kayla Kuse, Anthony Kuse, and Alyssa Kuse. George was blessed with five great grandchildren, Kanyon Shurtz, Kira Shurtz, Ella Kuse, Grace Kuse, and Noah Kuse. Also surviving is a sister, Patricia Yelden of Dubuque, Iowa, a brother, James Kuse, of Roscoe, Illinois, and an aunt, Anne McNicholas from Midlothian, Ill. Many nieces and nephews also survive and friends too numerous to mention. The family would like to thank everyone who has been so helpful during this difficult time. We treasure your friendship. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 on Sunday, January 11, 2009 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home with a Rosary Service beginning at 6:30. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 12, 2009 in the Shrine of St. Patrick in Laurie, Missouri. Burial will follow in the Old St. Patrick Church Cemetery on O Road in Laurie. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shrine of St. Patrick's and left at the funeral home or the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Homan-Howe Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri.
