Guenther Wilhelm von Hoff, son of Wilhelm Wagner von Hoff and Margot Wagner von Hoff was born, March 23, 1948 in Marktoberdorf, Germany. He departed this life, September 17, 2022, at the Lake of the Ozarks at the age of seventy-four.
He was preceded in passing by his beloved wife Mary von Hoff whom he cherished dearly.
He is survived by his son, Christoph Wagner von Hoff & wife Carolyn Wagner von Hoff of Gilbert, Arizona; his daughter, Dorothee Wagner von Hoff & husband Ronald Wagner von Hoff of Augsburg, Germany. Bruce & Liliana Vitor of Florida. As well as his grandchildren; Ella, Stephen, Lukas, Oskar, Ari, and Eli.
Guenther was raised in Germany where he completed his formal schooling and earned his Master’s degree in business and started his family. After establishing himself successfully in his career, his skills and expertise took him to Toronto, Canada for a year before moving to the United States.
In his spare time Guenther loved golf, working out, and was an avid gardener. Guenther loved to entertain and do so with his passion of cooking and exploring the culinary arts. His love for all forms of art was a lifelong passion. He loved to collect art, go to the theatre, and to read a vast variety of literature.
Guenther’s passions and interests where shared by his beloved wife Mary whom he met on that fateful telephone call in 1997. Together Guenther and Mary traveled often and enjoyed to explore, making many endearing lifelong friends from all corners of the world. When not at the Lake of the Ozarks they spent many days in St. Louis together. Guenther loved shopping for his culinary interest at The Hill, visiting the Fox Theatre and enjoying the outdoor theatrical performances at The Muny together with Mary.
He was a proud and genuine neighbor and friend regardless of time and distance. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
