Joan Moore

Frances Joan Moore (1928-2022). Known to friends and neighbors as Joan, she passed away peacefully in Osage Beach at Arrowhead Senior Living. She was married to Roy C. Moore for 68 years and anxious to be reunited with him in heaven. She is survived by son David and his wife Vicky of Montreal, daughter Debra Foster of Montreal, son Dale of Austin, TX, and daughter Dawn Smith of Ft. Smith, AR, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Joan was born in Enid, OK, and grew up in Baton Rouge, LA. Roy was in the Air Force for twenty years, and they had adventures and made a lot of memories traveling all over the world. They lived in Okinawa, the Philippines, England, and Spain, plus many tours in the United States including Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, Alabama, South Carolina, and Colorado. They retired on a small farm in Montreal, Missouri in 1969. They loved to travel and visit family all over the country, and her favorite pastime was the two of them taking short road trips just to view the scenery.

Joan was known in the area as being a kind, soft spoken, gentlewoman who put up with the antics of a sometimes mischievous husband with quiet amusement. In her later years she loved reading and working on jig-saw puzzles, and in good weather would spend the afternoons outside soaking up the fresh air and sunshine.

Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri
