KERRY SMYTHE Kerry Lynn Powers Smythe, daughter of Michael Patrick Powers and Alice Sue Dwiggins Schultz, was born, February 3, 1968 in Alton, Illinois. She departed this life, Friday, November 8, 2013, in her home, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of forty-five years, nine months and five days. On July 5, 1996, she was united in marriage to James Kevin Smythe and to this union three children were born. Together they shared seventeen years of marriage. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. Survivors include her husband, Kevin Smythe; her children, Michael Smythe, Ryan Smythe and Alicia Smythe all of the home; her mother, Alice Schultz and husband Ron of Linn Creek, Missouri; her father, Mike Powers and wife Therese of Springfield, Missouri; two brothers, Tom Powers and wife Melanie of Camdenton, Missouri and Patrick Powers and wife Lisa of Mesquite, Texas; a sister, Alexandra Schultz Assiff and husband Mark of Denver, Colorado; several step-brothers, step-sisters, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Kerry was raised in Camdenton and was a graduate of Camdenton High School in the class of 1986. While in school, she played basketball and volleyball. After graduation, she moved to St. Louis and worked there. She and Kevin moved back to the lake area in 2001 to reside at Red Oak Resort in Greenview. Kerry was baptized into the Catholic Church and attended St. Anthony Catholic Church. As a stay-at-home mom, she was very active in her children's lives. She was a proud Laker mom, and was the support behind all of her children's activities. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. Although she left us too soon, her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Cedar Ridge Treatment Center and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
