Queenie Wilkey

QUEENIE WILKEY Queen Isabelle Wilkey, daughter of Ansel Ray Handy, Sr. and Lydia Isabelle Leffert Handy Patrick, was born, April 16, 1941 in Linn Creek, Missouri. She departed this life, Thursday, December 19, 2013, in her home, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of seventy-two years, eight months and three days. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Lee Wilkey and a brother, Gene Handy. Survivors include two children, John Leslie Jones and wife Rebecca of Springfield, Missouri and Teressa Trower of Camdenton, Missouri; two grandchildren, Treva Janelle Trower and companion Danny Looney of Camdenton, Missouri and Lydia Marie Gore and husband Jake of Clarinda, Iowa; seven great-grandchildren, Angilena Trower, Cody Schoonover, Breianna Rowden, Dezirea Oullette, Katie Gore, Bryan Gore and Nicholas Gore; three brothers, Ansel Ray Handy, Jr. and wife Jean of Portland, Oregon, Jewell Handy and wife Naomi of Columbia, Missouri and Warren Handy of Camdenton, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Queenie was a life-long Camden County resident. She worked as a waitress for many years and after her children were out of school, she studied to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked for Windsor Estates for several years. She retired from Ozark Care Center in Osage Beach after twenty-three years of faithful care and service. Queenie made a profession of faith and was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church in Camdenton. In her spare time, she loved to quilt and crochet. She made many beautiful items for other to enjoy. She loved spending time with family and always looked forward their annual family reunion. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 23, 2013 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
