Robert Moss Alexander, was born August 12, 1948 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 in his home, at the age of seventy years young. On December 19, 1970, Robert was united in marriage to Jeaneal F. Miller, whom he had loved since seventh grade, and to this union three children were born. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Wise and Frances Berghauser Alexander; his mother and father-in-law, Buanita and Neal Miller; a nephew, Jared Cox; and a sister-in-law, Helaine Doerhoff-McCown. He is survived by his loving wife, Jeaneal; his children, Dr. Amy Alexander Fleming and husband Steve, of Fulton, Missouri; Jennifer J. Alexander of Stoutland, Missouri; and Robert N. Alexander of Camdenton, Missouri; his grandchildren: Alexander “Alec” G. Fleetwood, Ashlyn F. Fleetwood, Aubrey B. Fleetwood, Aiden M. Fleetwood, Ian W. Fleming, Hailee P. Shelton, Kalebe G. Shelton, Ryliee E. Klinefelter, Andrew J. Stahl, and Quinn N. Alexander; his brother, John L. “Jack” Alexander and wife Connie, of East Peoria, Illinois; two sisters-in-law; Mikki G. Starmer and her children, Mattie, Luke and Jenna, of Fulton, Missouri, and Sonia R. Cox and husband Jim and their daughter Jaime (Cale) Fessler, of St. Joseph, Missouri; and Helaine’s sons, Sam (Ethan) and Brad (Jenna) Doerhoff; Bob’s cousins, Susan Truog and husband Fred, of Milton, Massachusetts and their sons Tobin and Oliver; and Steve and Terry Williams of Beebe, Arkansas along with their children Kimberly and Kevin; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Robert grew up in Fulton, Missouri and was a graduate of Fulton High School, where he excelled in baseball and football. He received his undergraduate degree from Westminster College where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. While attending Westminster, he found his passion working at the Missouri School for the Deaf, where he became the second generation to work in Deaf education. He and Jeaneal each earned a master’s degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Deaf education from the University of Arizona, Tucson. Bob later earned a second master’s degree in Administration and Leadership from California State University, Northridge. After graduate school, he held numerous positions at Louisiana, Mississippi and Missouri Schools for the Deaf, including Deaf Educator, Dean of Students, Coach, Principal, and finally retiring as Interim Superintendent at MSD in 2003. Robert was a member of the First Christian Church in Fulton where he served as a Deacon for many years. He also enjoyed serving as President of the Fulton Rotary club. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, traveling, researching genealogy, and spending time with his friends and family. Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. We celebrate his life and many accomplishments and will treasure the wonderful memories he has created for his family and dear friends. A gathering of friends to honor the life of Robert M. Alexander, will be held from 1:30-3:30 p.m., Sunday, February 3, 2019 at the First Christian Church, Fulton, Missouri with a Celebration of Life starting at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MSD Welfare Fund or the First Christian Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
