Sandra Lee Byler

Sandra Lee (Cox) Byler, daughter of the late Herbert and Barbara (Jones) Cox, was born on November 18, 1948 and departed this life on August 26, 2020. At the time of her passing she was seventy-one years, nine months and eight days of age. Sandra was born in Montreal, MO. At an early age, she moved to St. Louis where she attended school. After she finished her schooling, she moved to back to Montreal, where she was united in marriage to Hugh Vaughn Byler at the age of 15. She and Hugh Vaughn had three children, one whom survives her. Sandra had a green thumb; she loved to garden, landscape and keep the house and yard pretty. She had a knack for making things shine and loved to spend her time refinishing and restoring various antiques. Her family and friends meant the world to her and she made sure that everyone was taken care of and nobody went without. In her spare time, she loved to go horseback riding and playing card games with Shaun, her closest friend. Sandra will be dearly missed, but her time on this earth was a blessing to all who knew her. She was a strong soul and a steady source of love. Sandra was preceded in passing by her husband, Hugh Vaughn Byler; two sons, Matthew Byler and Milton Byler; and her parents. She is survived by one daughter, Esther Black; ten grandchildren, Samantha Oestreich, Jacob Oestreich, Nick Oestreich, Travis Nichols, Chelsey & husband Michael Cisar, Chad Byler, Riki Byler, Ciara Byler, Hugh Vaughn Byler II and Nigher Alfaro; and nine grandchildren, Sondra Williams, Julie Williams, Temperance Boggs, Nicholas Oestreich Jr., Noah Oestreich, Adalyn Cisar, Kaden Cisar, Emery Cisar, Brantley Byler, Ella Alfaro and Kinleigh Alfaro. She also leaves a host of several other friends and family members who will all truly miss her.
