ABE TRUSCKA Adolph Charles "Abe" Truschka, son of Louis and Caroline Stange Truschka, was born, August 20, 1941 in Blue Island, Illinois. He departed this life, Thursday, March 10, 2011, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of sixty-nine years, six months and eighteen days. On March 15, 1997 he was united in marriage to Innis Ann John and together they shared almost fourteen years of marriage He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Lou. Survivors include his wife, Innis Truschka of the home; three children, Margo Jakobi of Jefferson City, Missouri, Steven Truschka and wife Sabrina of Heflin, Alabama and Gary Truschka of St. Petersburg, Florida; seven grandchildren, Steven Wayne, Christopher Dillon, Jake Bradley and Roselyn Emmy Truschka and Tarrin, Gavan and Sage Jakobi; three brothers; one sister; a sister-in-law, Priss Sims of Cole Valley, Illinois; two nieces Tish Ireland and Stephanie Sims and other relatives and many friends. Abe was raised in Illinois and joined the Coast Guard as soon as he was able. He later transferred to the U.S. Army. His career with the Army took him around the world several times. He served five tours in the Vietnam War. He retired from the Army was a Chemical Instructor. He retired to the Lake of the Ozarks and worked at Save-A-Lot in Camdenton. He had been a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting stamps and coins. He was a car enthusiast. Most of all, he enjoyed time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. No funeral service will be held. Memorial donations may be made to National Military Family Association through the Veterans Association or left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with cremation arrangements.
