ALBERT HATMAKER James Albert Hatmaker, son of Walter Goldman Hatmaker and Bertha Lee Hatmaker (Stooksbury), was born, November 24, 1935 in Andersonville, Tennessee. He departed this life, Sunday, November 3, 2013, in his home, Cross Timbers, Missouri at the age of seventy-seven years, eleven months and ten days. On September 12, 1958 in Gary, Indiana, he was united in marriage to Diana June Huffman and to this union four sons were born. Together they shared fifty-five years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ted G. Hatmaker and a brother, Elmer Hatmaker. Survivors include his wife, Diana Hatmaker of Cross Timbers, Missouri; three sons, Timothy Hatmaker and wife Michele, Thomas Hatmaker and wife Melissa and Terry Hatmaker and wife Mistie all of Cross Timbers, Missouri; six grandchildren, Deborah King and husband Russell of Cross Timbers, Marlena Moulder and husband Darren of Macks Creek, Brent Hatmaker and wife Marissa of Macks Creek, Tyler Hatmaker and wife Lacey of Cross Timbers, J.T. Hatmaker and fiance Mandy Lucas of Climax Springs and Tracie Hatmaker of Cross Timbers; five great-grandchildren, Carter King, Cara King, Peyton Hatmaker, Nathan Dampier and Natalie Hatmaker; two sisters Margaret Johnson and husband Jim of Mayfield, Kentucky and Venia Cox and husband Jim of Chesterton, Indiana and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Albert was raised in Tennessee and at the age of eleven moved with his family to Indiana. He was a graduate of Calumet High School in Gary, Indiana in the class of 1955. He worked for many years as an electrician in the steel mills. He served his country in the National Guard and was discharged as a Sergeant. In 1972, he and his family moved to Cross Timbers, Missouri where he became a farmer. Albert was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading Louis L'Amour novels and watching John Wayne movies and old episodes of Gunsmoke. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting. Most of all, he loved when the boys needed him to help repair something that was broke. One of his favorite things was to sit around the kitchen table talking about life and giving advice to his grandkids. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 9, 2013 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Hatmaker Cemetery, Cross Timbers. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Friday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Compassus of Osceola and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
