Anami "Amy" Cothran-Beaman

Anami Sontosha “Amy Beaman” Cothran, daughter of Thalia Denson, was born, August 6, 1972 in Chicago, Illinois. She departed this life, Tuesday evening, April 24, 2018 in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri surrounded by her family and friends at the age of forty-five years, eight months and eighteen days. On May 1, 1993 in Oceanside, California, she was united in marriage to Coty Beaman and to this union they were blessed with three children. Together they shared twenty-four years of marriage. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Alma Chandler and her mother. Survivors include her husband, Coty Beaman of Camdenton, Missouri; her two sons, Steven Cothran and his wife Bobi of Camdenton, Missouri and Coty Beaman, Jr. of Macks Creek, Missouri; her two daughters, Brittany Collum and husband Jesse of Camdenton, Missouri and Jaishana Scarberry of North Carolina; her grandchildren, Jackson, Riah, Langston, Lashlan, Presley, Zia and Isaac; her siblings, Christina Soltis of Camdenton, Missouri and Jason Chandler of Oceanside, California; her best friend that was like a sister to her, Christina Getman of Theresa, New York as well as a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends that she loved and who loved her. Amy was raised in Chicago and Las Vegas areas. She moved to Oceanside, California where she met the love of her life, Coty who was in the United States Marines. Amy and Coty traveled all over the United States while he was in the service. She was a DJ at Camp Pendleton before moving to Missouri in 1995. They later moved to Arizona for ten years and then moved back to Missouri to take care of Coty’s Mom. Amy was very active in the Lizzie Bell Foundation in Tucson, Arizona. Amy was saved and was a true believer. She had an amazing talent for making and decorating cakes of all shapes and sizes. She had made a full deer cake for her daughter’s wedding. Amy was a great cook, especially making baklava, huge cinnamon rolls, homemade bread and many other great meals. She was going to school to become an herbalist. She was known for being a strong advocate for people in the hospital. She would be there for support, asking questions to get answers for them and helping in any way she could. The one thing that she was the best at though, was spoiling her grandbabies. Amy has blessed her family, friends and people that didn’t even know her name with many kind words and memories that they will treasure. She was a loving wife, mom, nana, sister, aunt and we celebrate her life and many accomplishments. A memorial visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, May 18, 2018 at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
