Andrew Laria Sunrise Beach, MO Andrew Laria passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Sunrise Beach, MO at the age of 68. He was a supportive father and loving grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and fondly remembered by all as a kind, respectful and generous man. Andy was born and raised in Utica, New York. Growing up, he worked with his grandfather, Joseph Gigliotti to support the family’s washer and dryer repair business. Upon graduation from Proctor High School, he enlisted in the US Army where he completed paratrooper training and became a decorated marksman. He served his country for a total of six years and was a proud veteran. After the Army, Andy began a successful business career at General Electric in Utica, NY and then later joined Thompson Consumer Electronics to run their telephone business working in their Syracuse, NY, Hong Kong and Carmel, IN offices. His work enabled him to travel the world and provide a wonderful life for his family. He retired in October 2003 after spending more than 36 years with the company. Andy pursued several small business ventures in his retirement years as an entrepreneur with his business partner Jeff Scott. He enjoyed his retirement at his home on the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri and spent much of his time fishing when he wasn't visiting his four children and seven grandchildren. Andy was pre-deceased by his parents, Anthony and Frances Laria of Utica, NY, as well as his grandfather Joseph Gigliotti, who helped raise him. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Robert Giovinazzo of Utica, NY; his dear cousin, Joe Nuccio of Utica, NY; as well as his children, their spouses, and his grandchildren, including: Anne Marie, Ed and Francesca Romano of Hilton Head, SC; Marie Elana, Steve, Lexi and Vicky Casazza of Ballwin, MO; Andrea, David and Julia Stott of Carmel, IN; and Anthony, Marisol, Sofia and Natalia Laria of Miami, FL. Family and friends wishing to celebrate Andy’s life and pay their respects are welcome to attend his calling hours at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel in Indianapolis, IN on Saturday, November 22, from 1:00 - 3:00pm, which will be followed by a memorial service beginning at 3:00pm.
