BARBARA JANE CALVERT Barbara Jane Calvert, daughter of Ralph and Bessie Edwards Marler, was born, October 3, 1934 in Bonne Terre, Missouri. She departed this life, Friday, September 27, 2013, in Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of seventy-eight years, eleven months and twenty-four days. On September 2, 1950 in Pocahontas, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to John Paul Calvert Sr. Together they shared sixty-two years of marriage before his passing on October 14, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Vicki Lynne Lehman; a step-great-grandson, Dallas Henrickson and a step-grandson, B.J. Decker.. Survivors include a grandson, Gregory Jarvis of the home; four children, John Calvert, Jr. and wife Jenny of Missouri City, Texas, Pamela Nanni and husband Jeffrey of Harrison Township, Michigan, Sarah Decker and husband William of Lake Ozark, Missouri and Charmaine Jarvis of Holts Summit, Missouri; a son-in-law, Robert Lehman of Evansville, Indiana; ten grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; ten step-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ralph Marler, Travis Marler and Michael Marler all of Bonne Terre, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Barbara was raised in Bonne Terre and attended school there. After her marriage to John, they made their home in St. Louis for a time before returning to Bonne Terre. They later lived in Flat River then Union. In Union, she managed restaurants until she opened Barb's Original Creations a ceramics and gift shop. They retired to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1996. Barbara made a profession of faith and was a member of First Baptist Church of Union, Missouri. In her spare time, she enjoyed raising hybrid iris. She was talented at arts and crafts, interior design and floral design. She taught many ceramics classes. Most of all, time spent with family was precious to her. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. She touched many lives and her memory will linger on in the hearts of her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2013 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Allee Memorial Gardens, Camdenton. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
