Barbara Marks Barbara Elaine Marks, daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Trampiets Dapper, was born, June 30, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois. She departed this life, Thursday, May 9, 2019, in Laurie Care Center, Laurie, Missouri at the age of eighty-four years, ten months and nine days. On June 22, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois she was united in marriage to the love of her life, John Harry Marks and to this union three children were born. Together they shared forty-one years of marriage before his passing on September 2, 1998. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, James R. Marks; her brother, John Dapper and her sister Geraldine Dapper. Barbara is survived by her children, Steven J. Marks and his wife Carol and Karen Witt and husband Ron both of Camdenton, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jessica Chancellor and husband Tim of Linn Creek, Missouri, Stephanie Moncrief and husband Drew of Maryville, Tennessee and Jonathan Marks of Woodstock, Illinois; four great-grandchildren, Clay and Josey Chancellor and Cannon and Nora Moncrief; two sisters, Elizabeth Ann Costello and Carol Louise Both as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Barbara was born and raised in Chicago and she also raised her family there. In 1978, they moved to Camdenton and bought Lamplighter Resort. She and John made many new friends at the Lake. Barbara made a profession of faith and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Camdenton, Missouri where she was dedicated to the rosary and was a daily mass goer. In her spare time, she really enjoyed playing Bingo. She could be found, when the water was warm, swimming with the grandchildren. Barbara was an amazing cook. German Potato Salad and pizza were two of her specialties. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 13, 2019 in St. Anthony Catholic Church, Camdenton, Missouri. Burial will follow in Dale Blair Memorial Cemetery, Camdenton. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and left at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
