Barbara Viola “Barb” Frederick, daughter of Howard and Bessie (Rogers) Frederick, was born January 24, 1940 in Hugo, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, November 24, 2021 in Windsor Estates Care Center at the age of eighty-one years and ten months. Barb was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, J.B. Frederick. She is survived by her niece, Lesley Frederick and partner Cindy Alfano, of Sherman, Illinois; her nephew, Wes Frederick and wife Heidi, of Gilmer, Texas; great-niece and nephew, Ty Frederick and Sydney Frederick; and her sister-in-law, Charlotte Frederick, of Camdenton, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. Barb grew up in the Linn Creek area and attended Linn Creek grade school and was a graduate of Camdenton High School. She began her career working for Scott’s Heating and Cooling and later went to work as a welder for Modine/Sunstrand, retiring after many years of faithful service. Barb was a skilled trap shooter and had won many events throughout her life. She was a lifetime member of the Missouri Trapshooters Association as well as the Amateur Trapshooters Association. Barb was inducted as a member of the Missouri Trapshooters Hall of Fame in 1997. In her younger years, Barb enjoyed playing slowpitch softball, bowling, and traveling across the U.S. and even to London with her niece Lesley. She also owned many Boston Terriers throughout her life. Spending time with family and friends was something that Barb truly cherished. Barb was a loving aunt and sister-in-law. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories that she has created for her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to OATS Transit.
