Bentley Gene Byler

Bentley Gene Byler, born August 8, 1941 in Linn Creek, Missouri, was lead home by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 7, 2018, where he will meet his beautiful wife, Cynthia of forty-one years. Bentley was also preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Milton Byler and Mabel Ilene Byler. Two brothers, Jacob Charles Byler and Hugh Vaughn Byler. Bentley was a loving father to Clayton Hubert Byler, Shaun Marie Byler-Weyer, Wade Tomas Byler, Ashley Kane Byler, Jesse Lee Byler, Rachel Elizabeth Ollison, Jacob Cole Byler, Blaine Elliot Byler, and Savannah Lynn Byler. Because of his big heart and fatherly mentality, he was referred to as "dad" by the many that visited the Byler Hillside. He also became known as a noble grandpa by an endless amount of grand-kids. Bentley joined the Navy at the young age of seventeen, allowing him to sail the seas and see the world until he returned home to Linn Creek in 1962, becoming a well known carpenter which he held a passion for that allowed him to continue throughout his entire life. Bentley enjoyed his horses and was known as "The Cowboy" to break wild horses. He was often seen standing in the yard brushing out his own horse, hoping to find someone to ride with and daring them into a race. He also enjoyed picking his guitars and collecting various kinds. When he wasn't building something, he was working on some crazy dream Cyndi had, like secret passages throughout the house, paths and gardens, cabins and tree houses, giant chairs, a ring of stumps, and a horse shoe nailed to every tree in sight. The list goes on and on which he tried to gripe about, but we all know he loved making her smile. Bentley enjoyed spending time with old friends and family. He cherished the time he spent teaching his grandkids life lessons and he was often found telling someone about the love of Jesus Christ whom he loved dearly. Bentley was a hard working and honest man. He was not the type to beat around the bush, he gave it to you straight whether you liked it or not. Bentley was a person you could count on, always willing to lead a hand to a friend in need. He was a man with integrity and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 10, 2018 at Linn Creek Baptist Church, Linn Creek, Missouri. Burial will follow in Freedom Cemetery, Montreal, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
