Berton Arthur Garwood

Berton Arthur Garwood born, February 27,1938 in Iowa City, Iowa Bert lived in several states but spent over 30 years in Marietta, Georgia before moving to Camdenton, Missouri in 2016.

Bert was a fan of many sports but first and foremost a true Hawkeyes fan. He loved to joke with everyone and really appreciated when they would return the favor. He loved to laugh. He never met a stranger and enjoyed his conversations with everyone.

He is now reunited in heaven with his lovely wife Germaine, his mother Marjorie Helen Hill and father Walter Berton Garwood. He is survived by his sister Julie and Tom Kennedy, his children Nadia and Dennis Van Gorp, Eric Garwood, Marjorie Garwood and Edith and Khaled Ali; his grandchildren David Brent and Sydney Van Gorp, Noel Ali, Omar and Melanie Ali, Leith Ali and great granddaughter Olivia Ruth Ali.

Bert will be remembered for his sense of humor, his respect for the past, the military and the indelible mark he left on those around him.
