Betty Cady

Betty J. Cady, 94, of Macks Creek, Missouri, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 23, 2008. She was born April 28, 1914 in Kansas City, Missouri, a daughter of Andrew Young and Bertha Chapman Young. On March 22, 1944, in Kansas City, Kansas, Betty was united in marriage to Stanley F. Cady. She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Keith Andrew, who died at birth, and Andy Cady; as well as three sisters and six brothers. Survivors include her husband Stanley of the home; two daughters, Bertie Jacobson and husband Tom, and Kay Rausch and husband John; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Betty was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Camdenton, where she participated in making stuffed animals for children in the hospital, and enjoyed visiting with her fellow members. She worked as a legal secretary for many years and was also a devoted homemaker to her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and quilting. Out of love for her family she made many beautiful quilts for them to treasure. Betty also liked gardening, and was especially fond of her many beautiful roses. Betty was a wonderful cook and baker, and was especially known for her pumpkin bread, dinner rolls, and her grandchildren's favorite, "monster cookies." Betty's love and devotion to her family was never-ending with memories and traditions that will last for generations. She will forever be loved and remembered by those who knew her. Memorial service for Betty will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 28, 2008, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Memorial donations may be made to Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Camdenton, Missouri. Arrangements are under the care of Allee-Holman-Howe funeral home of Camdenton.
