Betty Geneva Burch

Betty Geneva Burch, daughter of George and Edith Caviness Shepherd, was born September 4, 1932 in Lee Summit, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, December 11, 2016 in her home, Montreal, Missouri, at the age of eighty-four years, three months, and seven days. On November 24, 1950, Betty was united in marriage to Warren Burch, and to this union four children were born. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warren Burch; three children, Kenneth Burch, Michael Burch, and Darlene Conner; and her siblings, Dolly, Louis, Jack, and a sister who passed as a young child. Betty is survived by her daughter, Teresa Hicks and husband George, of Camdenton, Missouri; her grandchildren, Stacey McCaulley and husband Trent, John Burch, Greg Burch and wife Tessa, Clayton Burch and significant other, Jami Polston, Helen Christensen and husband Charley, Joseph Conner and wife Joy, George Hicks, Justin Hicks, and Gina Boruff and husband Mike; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Bruce Shepherd and wife Twila, and John Shepherd; two daughters-in-law, Mary Burch and Sue Burch; a number of nieces, nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Betty moved to the Camdenton area as a young child and was a lifelong resident of the area. She spent her years as a homemaker to her husband and family. Betty had accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She was very talented at crocheting and had made many beautiful pieces throughout her years. She was always willing to help those in need and truly cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards and singing on Sundays at church. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends.
