BETTY HANKS Betty Lucille Hanks, daughter of Arthur Lee and Eula Mae Bohanon Greathouse, was born, January 28, 1935 in Marshfield, Missouri. She departed this life, Monday, October 18, 2010, in her home, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of seventy-five years, eight months and twenty days. On October 4, 1950 in Camdenton, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Glen Daniel "Sonny" Hanks, Sr. and to this union three children were born. Together they shared over forty-seven years of marriage until his passing on May 12, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law, Ray Jackson. Survivors include her children, Glen Daniel Hanks, Jr. and wife Jo Sue of Springfield, Missouri, Vicki Jackson of Camdenton, Missouri and Larry Dale Hanks of Raytown, Missouri; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Webb and wife Libby of Jefferson City, Missouri and a host of other relatives and many friends. Betty was raised in Camdenton and after her marriage to Sonny; they made their home in the Kansas City area where they lovingly raised their children. She spent most of her adult life in Kansas City where she worked at Russell Stover Candy factory, worked at a dry cleaners and owned and operated Betty's This and That. She retired to Camdenton in 1988 where she enjoyed helping her children at the Bargain Spot. Betty made a profession of faith and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Camdenton. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, miniature golf and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren, especially playing board games. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 21, 2010 in First Assembly of God Camdenton. Burial will follow in Allee Memorial Gardens, Camdenton. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
