Bettye “B. Jo” (Kennedy) Binder, 86, of Camdenton, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018. Bettye was a loving wife of the late Richard Binder (2015) for 60 years. Richard and Bettye were united in marriage August 14, 1954. Born in Paducah, Kentucky, January 1, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Margaret (Davis) Kennedy, and lived there until attending Columbia College in Columbia, MO in 1950. She completed her education at University of Missouri. Bettye worked as a lab technician, and later as a secretary in the Dairy Husbandry Department at University of Missouri and later with her husband at his veterinary small animal hospital on Telegraph Rd., in St. Louis. She attended Maryville University from 1982 – 1984 where she received a degree in interior design and worked at Loire Interiors in Webster Grove, Missouri. Richard and Bettye moved to Lake of the Ozarks in 1990 where she became active in her church, Kent Memorial in Sunrise Beach. She later became a member of New Hope Lutheran Church, and subsequently transferred to Walk on the Water Faith Church in Osage Beach, Missouri. She was active in the Christian Missions Club and Osage Brush and Pallette Club. Bettye also volunteered at Windsor Nursing Home in Camdenton, Missouri. Survivors include two sons, David Binder of Lake Ozark, Missouri, Michael Binder (Beth) of Springfield, Missouri; sister, Karen Marvin (James William) of Paducah, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Leslie Binder and Kirsten Binder; and several nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held, Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Allee Holman Howe Funeral Home, 15 Clint Avenue, Camdenton, Missouri at 10:00 AM. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The American Lung Association in her memory.
