Beverly Ann Eddings

Bev Eddings (Mrs. Ed) departed this life on March 7th, 2023. Beverly was eighty-five years old and passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her children and family.

Beverly Ann Eddings was born to Paul and Agnes (Major) Butts in Kansas City, MO on May 20th 1937. Raised in California, she attended and graduated from California High, eventually earning a B.A. and Masters to begin a career as a science teacher. She first taught in Riverton, KS and went on to teach in the Camdenton School Districts between the years 1967-1998, and substitute taught many years following.

Her home has always been a hub of activity and community. She was a loving mother and grand-mother, and has stayed active in the lives of her great-grandchildren living near and far. She stayed connected to many friends and family by her prolific card-writing, and loved to travel the world with anyone who wanted to go with her. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, reading, traveling, and dancing to the beat of her own drum. A force of nature, enduring to the end, Beverly has placed her hope in Jesus Christ her Savior and the Resurrection to New Life. She blessed many with her honesty, charm, quirky interests, and spiritual encouragement.

Beverly was a proud member of Camdenton’s Retired Teachers, Literary Club, National Science Association, American Chemical Society, National Education Association, Disciples Women, Gamma Beta, Alpha Gamma Delta, and Missouri Teachers Association. She also volunteered and supported The Lamb House for many years.

Married to Ronald B. Eddings on January 27th, 1968, they shared 36 years of marriage together. Her husband preceded her in death, along with her parents Paul and Agnes, her half-brothers, Charles and Raymond Butts, and her step-daughters Ronda Thurston and Brenda Rubio.

She is survived by her children: Skip and wife Tammy Zey, Christi and husband Randy Sheppard, Daniel B. Eddings and wife Melissa Weston. Other surviving relatives include her grandchildren: Dustin Zey, Andy Zey, Rebekah Robey, Josh Sheppard, Mary Morton, Sarah Vest, Brianna Pryor, Katelyn Parks; Step-children: Marty Eddings and Monty Eddings; and sixteen great-grandchildren. There are many friends, church members, and other family members who shall remember her and miss her influence in their lives.

A memorial will be held on her birthday May 20th, 2023 at Community Christian Church of Camdenton, Missouri.
