Bonnie Evans

Bonnie Louise Evans, daughter of George and Laura Ann Allen Burns, was born, June 15, 1932 in Decaturville, Missouri. She departed this life, Wednesday, July 23, 2008 in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of seventy-six years, one month and eight days. On February 12, 1953 in Eldridge, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Everett Anderson Evans and to this union four children were born. Together they shared forty-six years until his passing on December 3, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael Evans; a brother, Lee Burns and two sisters, Ferba Arthur and Ruby Gregory. Survivors include her children, Tony Evans and wife Jenny of Macks Creek, Missouri; Carla Wier and husband Kirk of Blue Springs, Missouri and Jenelle Horton and husband Bobby of Macks Creek, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. She was a life-long resident of Camden County. She owned and operated The Truck Port Cafe in Camdenton for many years and later Bonnie's Cafe in Macks Creek. She was well known for her delicious Fried Pies. She was saved at the age of twenty at Mt. Horeb Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a member for the rest of her life. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting and had made many beautiful quilts for her family and friends. Her legacy will live on for generations through her quilts. She loved being a grandma and spending time with her grandchildren. Bonnie was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt and was a caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered by many people and we celebrate her life and her many accomplishments. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 27, 2008 in Mt. Horeb Missionary Baptist Church, Decaturville. Burial will follow in Mt. Horeb Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Horeb Cemetery and left at the funeral home.
