Bryan Marler

Bryan Patrick Marler, age 61 of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024. He was born on November 16, 1962 in Lebanon, Missouri to J.H. "Sonny" and Fern (Reeves) Marler.


Bryan's family moved to Camdenton, Missouri in 1969 where he attended the Camdenton School District. In 1979 Bryan enlisted in the United States Marine Corp on his 17th birthday. He was stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and served overseas in Okinawa, Japan, and lceland. Bryan was a proud member of Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion, 2d Marine Regiment where he held the rank of Corporal and served as a Mortarman. Bryan was responsible for the tactical employment of 81mm mortars and other weapons systems, including medium and heavy machine guns and anti-tank guided missile systems. Bryan earned several commendations throughout his service, including the Expert Rifle Marksmanship Badge, a Meritorious Unit Commendation, the Good Conduct Medal, and a Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. He was honorably discharged after three years of dedicated service. After returning home Bryan worked alongside his father in his landscaping business. Later, he went on to own and operate B&J Auto Salvage in Linn Creek, Missouri for many years. Bryan has worked at Gerbes Supermarket in Camdenton for the past four years.


Bryan married Debra Appling on December 25, 1986 and together they raised their family. Bryan inherited a passion for stock car racing from his father that started in his younger years and continued throughout his life. He was a local favorite at Lebanon I-44 Speedway with a large fan following. Bryan was also an avid outdoorsman with a deep love for fishing, hunting, canoeing and camping.


Bryan is survived by his loving wife of thirty-seven years, Debra Marler; son, Michael (Dawn) Appling; daughter, Jeana (Jesse) Weir; sisters, Monique (Marty) Martinson, Cindy Marler-Ross, Felicia Parrack and Charity (David) Bates; grandchildren, Kody Schelp, Alyissa (James) Nelson, Caleb Appling and Bryan Robinson, four great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.


Bryan was preceded in death by his parents, Sonny and Fern Marler, brother-in-law, Sam Parrack and two great-grandchildren, Elliott and Cleo Appling.


Bryan was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, uncle, son, brother and friend to many. He will be greatly missed.


A Memorial Service with military honors, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 28, 2024 at Union Southern Baptist Church, Decaturville, Missouri with Pastor John Pulley of Union Southern Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until time of service in the church.


In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and may be left at the church or mailed to Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, 15 Clint Avenue, Camdenton, Missouri 65020.
