Carl “Dick” Richard Bowles Carl Richard Bowles, son of James G. and Anna Louise Becker Bowles, was born, June 7, 1929 in Webster Grove, Missouri. He departed this life, Sunday, April 1, 2018, in his home, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of eighty-eight years, nine months and twenty-five days. On May 18, 1947 in Richland, Missouri he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Zelma Lorene Stafford and they were blessed with their three children. Together they shared nearly seventy years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Connie L. Rakes; his son-in-law, Terry Dickerson; his grandson, Christopher R. Dickerson and a brother, Roger Bowles. Survivors include his wife, Lorene Bowles of the home; his children, Carl Lewis Bowles of Laquey, Missouri and Sharon Kay Dickerson, of Camdenton, Missouri; his grandchildren, Carl David Bowles, Jeffrey Bowles, Melissa Bowles, Allen Rakes and wife Shonna Rakes of Camdenton, Missouri, Leann Selander of Camdenton, Missouri, Robert (Aaron) Dickerson of Camdenton, Missouri, Deannah Bass of Bokeelia, Florida, Jaclyn Peters & husband Dennis of Camdenton, Missouri; fifteen great-grandchildren; his son-in-law, Dwight Rakes; his sister, Patricia Boyd and husband Gene of Richland, Missouri as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Carl was raised the Richland area where he graduated from Richland High School. He had worked for Sho-Me Power Corporation for forty years from whom he retired. He had also worked at the Tunnel Dam Power Plant. Carl made a profession of faith and had attended church at Linn Creek Baptist Church, Linn Creek, Missouri and Union Southern Baptist Church, Decaturville, Missouri. In his spare time he loved to fish and hunt. He had a green thumb for gardening. You could often find him out enjoying the outdoors on his four-wheeler. Carl loved to spend time with his family and friends. Carl has blessed his family and friends with many wonderful memories. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and caring neighbor and friend. His favorite saying was, “the best gift an individual can give or receive is time.” Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Idumea Cemetery, in Laquey, Missouri. Memorial donations may be made to The Missouri Heart Association and mailed to Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, 15 Clint Avenue, Camdenton, Missouri 65020. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
