CAROL HANES Carol Marie Hanes, daughter of James David Hargest and Grace Alvina Schroeder Hunt, was born, January 3, 1942 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She departed this life, Tuesday, May15, 2012, in her home, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of seventy years. On March 10, 1962 in West Palm Beach, Florida, she was united in marriage to Benjamin Franklin Hanes Jr. and to this union eleven children were born. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Harold "Boose" Hanes and grandson, Michael Hanes. Survivors include ten children, Benjamin Hanes and wife Janice of Apopka, Florida, Scott Hanes and wife Rebecca of Zellwood, Florida, Michael Hanes of Camdenton, Missouri, Robert Hanes and wife Carol of Meridian, Idaho, Paula Imler-Hanes of Osage Beach, Missouri, Shad Hanes and wife Darlene of Eldon, Missouri, Brian Hanes of Peoria, Illinois, Christopher Hanes of Jefferson City, Missouri, Frank "Sprout" Hanes and fiance Caitlin of Bagnell, Missouri and Lisa Mueller and husband Craig of O'Fallon, Missouri; twenty-seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alan Hargest of Hagerstown, Maryland and James Hargest of Sanford, Florida; and a half-sister, Mary Ellen McNalley, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends, Carol was raised in Pennsylvania and was a graduate of Alganey High School. She then served her country proudly in the United States Marine Corps. After being honorably discharged, she and Benjamin made their home in West Palm Beach, Florida. They later lived in Macon, Georgia for a time before moving to Orlando, Florida. She moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1987. She worked as a Certified Nurses Aid for over twenty-five years. Carol was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was the number one fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2012 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Allee Memorial Gardens, Camdenton. Visitation will be from 10 - 11 a.m., Saturday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Cardinals Care and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
