Carrel "Mickey" Carpenter

Carrel “Mickey” Carpenter Jr, son of the late, Carrel & Janice (Young) Carpenter, was born on October 8, 1946 and departed this life on September 9, 2022. At the time of his passing, he was seventy-five years, eleven months and one day of age.

Mickey was preceded in passing by his parents; two brothers-in-law, Charles Brinkley and Ronald Hanson; one sister-in-law Marcia Mitchen; and one nephew Eric Hanson; and one great-niece Alexandra Woelm.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Carpenter: two children, Dan Carpenter, and Michael & wife Deborah Carpenter; two grandchildren, Zachary Carpenter and Nathan Carpenter; three sisters, Gail & husband Glen Ferguson, Bobbie & husband Rick Wilson and Patsy Brinkley; sister-in-law Betty Brown; brother-in-law Larry Mitchen; and several nieces and nephews whom he cherished. He also leaves behind many friends and other family members who will all truly miss him.

Mickey was raised in both Louisiana and Oklahoma, later graduating high school in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Following his high school graduation, he attended a few years of college before entering the United States Navy, where he would proudly serve his country for eleven years. On July 1, 1978, he was united in marriage to Nancy Brown and together they shared forty-four years of marriage. They enjoyed gardening together, with Mickey raising vegetables and Nancy the flowers. He loved fishing, especially with his grandsons, and spending time with all of his family.

Mickey made a profession of faith and was an active member of the Camdenton Church of Christ where he was faithfully devoted, serving as an inspiration for those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He was a loving and a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 15, 2022 at the Camdenton Church of Christ. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m., at the church. Private family burial will take place at a later date in Oklahoma.
