Chester Robert Jones, 93, of Decaturville, MO passed away peacefully in his home on September 30th, 2022. Chester was born on the 7th of May 1929 in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri to Ernest Raymond Jones and Martha Daniel Jones, their third child and second son.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Beulah May Buffalow Jones; his three brothers: Ernest Raymond Jones, Jr., Clemet Joe Jones, Dean Lee Jones; his sister: Dorothy Louise Jones Wright; his son: David Robert Jones; and his daughters: Janet Jones Cochran, Marilyn Marie Jones Mizer.
He is survived by his Sons: Richard Wayne Jones of Camdenton, MO and Daniel Bane Jones of Decaturville, MO; his daughter Nancy Jean Jones Grossenheider of Camdenton, MO; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Chester grew up on his family farm and attended school in Lebanon, MO. He married Willa Jo Ballenger on the 1st of November 1947 with whom he had, one daughter Janette Jones Cochran from which he became grandfather to 5 children, great-grandfather to 11 children, and great-great grandfather to 9 children to date.
He then joined the US Army and served with the 15th US Constabulary Squadron in Post-war Germany whom followed the motto of Mobility-Vigilance-Justice. He was discharged on the 3rd of March 1950 under honorable conditions.
Upon returning home from his service, He met his life-long sweetheart, Beulah May Buffalow whom he married on the 28th of July, 1951 in Lebanon, Laclede, MO. He and Beulah raised 5 children and became grandparents to 11 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Chester accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized on the 7th of July, 1967 becoming a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was later sealed to Beulah for time and all eternity in the Dallas, TX Temple on the 17th of May 1996.
Chester was a dedicated provider. He ran the theater in Camdenton, MO during the 1970’s, provided janitorial services, and later was a self-employed contractor building many homes in the city of Decaturville, MO.
Chester was a loving and attentive son, father, and grandfather often seen with a contagious smile, playful nature, and giving heart.
A memorial service will be held on October 22, 2022 at 10AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on 1168 Hwy KK, Osage Beach, MO.
Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
