Chris Smith

Christopher Paul “Chris” Smith, son of Reverend Ron and Nancy Smith, was born July 29, 1979 in Laurie, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, January 19, 2024 at Lake Regional Hospital at the age of forty-four years, five months, and twenty-one days.

On May 22, 2003, Chris was united in marriage to Jessi Hoskins. Chris and Jessi had just celebrated twenty years together and anyone who knew them at all knew how much he loved and cherished his “Baby.”

Chris was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Jessi, of the home; numerous aunts and uncles as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Chris grew up in the Gravois Mills area and was a graduate of Camdenton High School in the Class of 1997. He briefly lived in Louisiana before returning to the Lake area. He worked as a salesman for High Brothers Lumber and later at Camden County Road and Bridge. Chris was known for his great work ethic.

Chris had accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was a member of the Branch Assembly of God Church where he was a very active member. He loved serving in the church and took great pride in planning the Annual Church Picnic.

In his spare time, Chris loved to fish and watch any sporting event. He was an avid sports fan and was a die-hard Los Angeles Rams fan. He enjoyed hosting gatherings at his house and could always be found at the grill, he was truly the “Grill Master.” He took great pride in his backyard and always had a game of horseshoes or croquet going on. He also enjoyed going to thrift stores and yard sales.

Chris was a loving husband and a caring friend and neighbor. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, January 25, 2024 in the Branch Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be from 12:00 (noon) until time of service Thursday in the church.
