CLARENCE M. "DOC" HARDMAN Clarence M. Hardman, son of Thomas James and Mary Allen Hardman, was born, May 1, 1922 in Memphis, Missouri. He departed this life, Friday, July 13, 2007 in Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri at the age of eighty-five years, two months and twelve days. On June 4, 1942 in Memphis, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Beatrice K. Plant and to this union two children were born. Together, they shared the past sixty-five years. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Marie Edgdert, Opal Hardman, Pearl Hardman and Merle Faye "Jean" Booth and two brothers, Raymond Hardman and Ralph Hardman. Survivors include his wife, Bea of Raytown, Missouri; a son, Mike Hardman and wife Sandy of Lee's Summit, Missouri; a daughter, Carol Nash of Versailles, Missouri; three grandchildren, Michele Walden and husband Allen of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Sherry Gardner and husband Mark of Lee's Summit, Missouri and their mother, Gloria Pilkerton of Lee's Summit, Missouri and Lee Nash and wife Retha of Versailles, Missouri; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Louella "Dicky" Gardner and Betty Wagner both of Omaha, Nebraska and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Doc was raised in Memphis, Missouri and he attended school there. After his marriage to Bea, they made their home in the Kansas City area. They retired to Sunrise Beach, Missouri and later moved to Versailles, Missouri. Due to declining health, they moved back to the Kansas City area in December to live with their son. He worked as a buyer for Klines and Rothchild for many years and retired as an assistant manager from TG&Y. He followed the teachings of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the Church of Christ. In his spare time he enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and outside work. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Doc was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2007 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Garber Memorial Estates in Laurie, Missouri. Visitation will be from 12-1 p.m., Tuesday in the funeral home. An open house will be held Tuesday from 6-8 p.m., in the home of Mike and Sandy Hardman at 25409 E. 130th Terrace, Greenwood, MO. (1-816-347-8333) In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association or Kansas City Hospice House and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
