CLARENCE MAPLES Clarence Newton Maples, son of Jasper and Emma Frances Wilson Maples, was born, November 25, 1928 in Jefferson City, Missouri. He departed this life, Sunday, March 30, 2008 in Windsor Estates, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of seventy-nine years, four months and five days. On August 25, 1946, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Bell Salmons and to this union five children were born. Together they lovingly shared the past sixty-one years. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Dennis Michael Maples and a sister, Toncie Mantle. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Maples of Camdenton, Missouri; four daughters, Sherry Kellen and husband William of Pinedale, Wyoming, Kimberly Maples of Ft. Mohave, Arizona, Malia Plummer and husband Lawrence of Sacramento, California, Robin Smith and husband Gary of Camdenton, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Jared and Joshua Maples, Lawrence C., Daniel and Thomas Plummer, Aaron and Ryan Persinger, Kourt Kellen and Haven and Noah Smith; three great-grandchildren, Jovaun, Lawrence James and DuVaughn Plummer; a brother, Gus Maples and wife Eve of Orange, California and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Clarence was raised in Jefferson City, Missouri and attended school there. After his marriage to Bonnie they lived in Missouri, Oregon, California and Arizona. They retired to Missouri in 2006. He was a truck driver for Rail Road Express and had been a Deputy for the Laclede County Sheriff's Department in Lebanon, Missouri. He made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Church of Christ. He and his wife attended the Church of Christ on South Highway 5 in Lebanon. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and tinkering with cars. His family was always amazed how he could make anything out of very few materials. He was a kind man and never knew a stranger. He loved spending time on his daughter's farm in Wyoming. Clarence was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. Although he would not want the attention, we celebrate his life and his many accomplishments and will treasure all the memories he helped create. A private family service will be held at a later date in Wyoming. Memorial donations may be amde to the American Heart Association and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
