Claudia Benton

Claudia Jo Benton (Benson), age 61 of Porto Cima, Missouri, was called to heaven on Wednesday, September 23, 2009. Claudia was born on April 7, 1948 in Worland, Wyoming. She was preceded in death by her father Dee Benson and is survived by her mother Helen Benson. She shared her life with Greg Benton. They were married on October 2, 1998 in California. Greg and Claudia lived in Denver, Colorado for the first eight years of their marriage before moving to Missouri in 2006. Claudia has one sister, Karen Benson and brother-in-law Charlie Frank, she also has one brother Landis Benson and sister-in-law Janet Benson. Claudia is survived by many nieces and nephews. Claudia graduated Valedictorian, from Worland High School in Worland, Wyoming. She was also one of only two girls chosen from Wyoming who went to Girls' Nation in Washington, D.C. After High School, Claudia continued her education and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Denver with a degree in Fine Arts, where she was named as Outstanding Senior Woman. Claudia became an interior designer, with an ASID designation. She worked for several well known design firms in Boston, Los Angeles and Denver, and later established her own design business. Not only did her family love her, but friends and clients felt the same love and admiration for her. Claudia's charismatic smile and personality drew people to her and along the way she touched many lives. Claudia's accomplishments were many. Her talents were great. Her loss is indescribable. She is deeply missed by her husband and her family who loved her more than she ever knew. Memorial services will be held in Denver, Colorado on Saturday, October 17, 2009.
