Connie L. Rakes

Connie Lea Rakes, daughter of Carl Richard and Zelma Lorene Stafford Bowles, was born, May 7, 1953 in Camdenton, Missouri. She departed this life, Wednesday, February 15, 2017, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of sixty-three years, nine months and eight days. On January 23, 1971 in the First Baptist Church of Camdenton she was united in marriage to Dwight Allen Rakes and to this union two children were born. Together they shared forty-six years of marriage. She is survived by her husband, Dwight Rakes of Camdenton, Missouri; her children, LeAnn Selander of Camdenton, Missouri and Allen Rakes and wife Shonna of Linn Creek, Missouri; her granddaughters, Jillian, Addison, Riley “Momo”, Fayth and Emma; her parents, Carl and Lorene Bowles of Camdenton, Missouri; her brother, Carl Bowles of Laquey, Missouri; her sister, Sharon Dickerson of Camdenton, Missouri, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Connie had always lived her life in the Camdenton area. Connie was saved early in her life at Linn Creek Baptist Church. She served the Lord by taking care of and nurturing her family, her parents and many others, young and old. She was blessed with a compassionate heart. In her spare time she loved to cook. Her family loved her hot rolls and her chicken especially. She had a talent for playing the piano and singing songs. She had even written a song. Connie loved growing beautiful flowers and had quite the green thumb. She also loved to spend time with their beagle Gordon, who had given them a lot of joy till his passing in December. The thing she enjoyed the most was spoiling her family in every way. Connie has blessed her family and friends with many wonderful memories by being a loving wife, mom, grandma, daughter, sister, aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she has created.
