Connie Lee Jones was born on December 4, 1954 in Bloomington, Illinois. She passed from this world to the next, on December 4, 2016, due to complications of Lupus, which she had courageously fought for a great number of years. She greeted her Savior with open arms at the age of sixty-two years. Her family moved to Camden County when she was one and a half years old, and she attended all twelve years of school at Camdenton, graduating in 1973. She was raised in the country by good parents and luxuries were few, so being a very inventive child, she created her own games, some of which were called Hide and Go Wet Sack and Hide and Go Cookie Whistle, and she was found on more than one occasion outside eating dirt, the bark from trees and chewing on nails. Connie was saved by God’s grace in her mid-twenties and was an active member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. She felt that the Lord had truly blessed her, by giving her the gift of creating wonderful songs and poems that she loved sharing with her church family. She loved her Lord, her church, her family, her country and a host of beloved friends and bowling buddies. She also loved photography, was very good at it and the multitude of picture albums she left behind bears witness to that. She was preceded in death by her mother and maternal and paternal grandparents. She leaves behind, her parents, Ordell and Robin Jones of Linn Creek; her sister, Kathy Charlton of Macks Creek; her brother, Charles Hudson and “twin” sister Jan Cox, both of Camdenton. She also leaves behind five dearly loved nieces and nephews, twelve great-nieces and nephews, other family members and too many friends to count. She loved helping others, so much in fact, that she started a group called A Friend In Need in the 1990’s, where she helped provide furniture and household items to those who needed them. Connie recycled and up-cycled long before it became the thing to do. Connie Lee would not want us to be sad today, but would encourage all of us to take stock of our lives and make sure that we have accepted Jesus as our Savior.
