Dale Leon Butler, son of Leslie Grant Butler and Mary Adelia Hamilton Butler Pitts, was born September 1, 1949 in Unionville, Missouri. He departed this life, March 19, 2025 in Jefferson City, Missouri at the age of seventy-five years, six months and eighteen days.
On December 30, 1972 in Grandview, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Joyce Arlene Moffett. Together they shared fifty-two years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Grant Butler and Mary Adelia Hamilton Butler Pitts; and sister, Ruth Ellen Coulson.
Dale is survived by his wife, Joyce of the home; son, Leslie Scott Butler of O’Fallon, Missouri; son, James Dean McWilliams of Overland, Missouri; daughter, Christa Lynn Anderson of Overland, Missouri; sister, Joyce Jeanette Taylor and husband William of Flower Mound, Texas; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and many friends.
Dale was raised and graduated High School in Blue Springs, Missouri. He then attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri before entering the military and beginning his career in Law Enforcement.
Dale was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and previously worked as a Baptist Preacher.
In his spare time, Dale loved playing tennis in his youth and later switched his focus to mastering the game of golf. He was previously a member of the Elks Lodge and Fraternal Order of Police.
He was a loving and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Lake Ozark, Missouri, on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 31, 2025, in the church. A committal service will follow in New Hope Cemetery in Kaiser, Missouri.
