David Lee Silvers

David Lee Silvers, son of Clarence and Faye Smith Silvers, was born, June 24, 1946 in Jasper County, Missouri. He departed this life, Sunday, November 1, 2020, in his home, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of seventy-four years, four months and eight days. On September 24, 1988, he was united in marriage to his loving wife, Dorothy Evans Jamison and to this union they shared three sons. Together they were blessed with thirty-two years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jason Jamison; two brothers, Ralph Lee Silvers and Clarence Junior Silvers and his father-in-law, Len Dale Evans. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of their home; two sons, Daniel Lee Silvers and wife Brandi of New Bloomfield, Missouri and Justin Lee “Bubba” Jamison of Jefferson City, Missouri; his grandchildren, Danielle Marie Pelegrin, Amanda C. Silvers, Emilee Sutton and husband Chris, Kalia Silvers, Caiden Silvers and Diamon Galbraith Jamison; his great-grandchildren, Owen D. Silvers, Max Sutton and Addie Sutton; his sisters, Betty Beauchamp and husband Gene, Fern Ritchie and husband Cecil and Sandra Cyr; his brother, Tony Silvers and wife Barbara; his mother-in-law, Bobbie Evans and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. David was born in Jasper County and attended grade School in Cossville, Missouri. His family moved to Mesa, Arizona and he graduated from Mesa High School in the class of 1964. After graduation, he entered into the United States Navy and served two tours of duty during the Vietnam War. David had worked various jobs before moving to Camdenton in the early eighties. He owned and operated Silvers Radiator Repair Shop and then went to work at Camdenton R-III Schools in the maintenance department for eighteen years and retired in June of 2008. David loved his Lord Jesus Christ and was a member of Mt. Horeb Missionary Baptist Church. In his spare time, he had a passion for being outdoors. He loved turkey and deer hunting and fishing. No matter how cold, he would tough it out and would sometimes end up with frost on his boots. He also enjoyed an occasional golf game. He loved having a good time. David was a great man and loved his family with all his heart. He was a loving husband, dad, papa, brother, son-in-law, uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 6, 2020 in Mt. Horeb Cemetery, Decaturville, Missouri. Burial will be in Mt. Horeb Cemetery, Decaturville. Face mask and social distancing is requested. Memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warriors or Mt.
