DAVID ROE David Lee Roe, son of Joseph Dorsey and Alma Berdine James Roe, was born, November 9, 1930 in Versailles, Missouri. He departed this life, Sunday, May 1, 2011, in his home, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of eighty years, five months and twenty-two days. On June 15, 1951 in Camdenton, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Bevne Adele Bertrand and to this union three sons were born. Together they shared fifty-nine years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Edward Preston, Junior Dorsey and Harold Emory Roe. He is survived by his wife, Bevne Roe of the home; three sons, Gary Lee Roe and wife Sandra of Camdenton, Missouri, Richard Alen Roe of Denver, Colorado and Jeffrey Dennis Roe of Camdenton, Missouri; two grandchildren, Nicole Lee Roe and Matthew Lee Roe; two great-grandchildren, Beau Mason and Kylie Nicole Preble; a sister, Elizabeth Jaeger and husband Joseph of Jefferson City, Missouri; two brothers, Joseph Roe and wife, Betty Lee of Lamar, Missouri and Roy Roe and wife Joyce of Oregon City, Oregon and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. David was raised in Camdenton and was a graduate of Camdenton High School in the class of 1948. He entered the United States Navy and proudly served for four years before being honorably discharged. The family lived in various places throughout the United States and returned to Camdenton in 1986. He worked as a salesman and a commissary officer for most of his working life. He retired from Fort Leonard Wood. David made a profession of faith and was a member of Community Christian Church in Camdenton. He had also been a member of the Elks Lodge in Arvada, Colorado and a fireman in Golden, Colorado. In his spare time he enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. He was an avid baseball fan who always rooted for the St. Louis Cardinals. His family was most important to him, especially his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2011 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a fund established to assist the family and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
