DONALD BAKER Donald Ray Baker, son of Webster Clarence and Mary Jane Hendrickson Baker, was born, August 27, 1934 in Ursa, Illinois. He departed this life, Monday, October 4, 2010, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of seventy-six years, one month and seven days. On July 3 1966 in Clayton, Illinois, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Frances Aden and to this union three sons were born. Together they shared the past forty-four years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Ben, Glenn, Walter and William. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Baker of the home; three sons, John Baker and wife Susan of Osage Beach, Missouri, Phillip Baker and wife Christal of Linn Creek, Missouri and Danny Baker and wife Jamie of Hannibal, Missouri; nine grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Don was raised in the Ursa, Illinois area and attended school in Menden, Illinois. He met his wife in Quincy, Illinois and they lived most of their adult lives there. They retired to Durham, Missouri for a time before moving to the Lake of the Ozarks in 2003. He studied blacksmithing and welding and retired from Comstock Castle after many years of service. He made a profession of faith and was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Quincy. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He especially enjoyed hunting deer and turkey and crappie fishing. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 6, 2010 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Laughlin Cemetery, Camdenton. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to New Testament Christian Church and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
