Donald Eugene Burkhamer Donald Eugene Burkhamer, son of Russell Allen and Lottie Louraine Lehmkuhl Burkhamer, was born, March 16, 1954 in Junction City, Kansas. He departed this life, Sunday, January 25, 2015, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of sixty years, ten months and nine days. On April 7, 1977 in Camdenton, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Doris Lorraine Hammond and to this union three children were born. Together they shared thirty-seven years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Pauline Grace Becker. Survivors include his wife, Doris Burkhamer of the home; three children, Kimberly Sue Burkhamer, Justin Shane Burkhamer and wife Kimmy Michelle and Mary Josephine Sawyers all of Climax Springs, Missouri; three grandchildren, Wyatt Austin Burkhamer, Lorraine Frances Sawyers and Grace Marie Sawyers; a brother, Paul Andrew Burkhamer and wife Violet Irene of Montreal, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Donald was raised on a dairy farm in Harvard, Illinois and the family lived in various locations. He served his country proudly in the United States Army and was honorably discharged as a SP-4. He made his home in Camdenton, Missouri and later moved to Climax Springs. He worked for many years at Modine and was currently a marine mechanic for Advantage Marine in Sunrise Beach. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved all animals and enjoyed taking care of his own. Most of all, time spent with his family was special to him. He was a Christian and loved his Heavenly Father with all his heart. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. He touched many lives and we know that his memory will linger on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2015 in Climax Springs Cemetery under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Climax Springs Cemetery, Climax Springs, Missouri. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the family and left at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.alleeholmanhowe.com. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
