Donald E. Schultz

DONALD E. SCHULTZ Donald Elvin Schultz, son of Frank William Schultz and Marie Croghan Schultz, was born September 5, 1932 in Montclair, New Jersey. He departed this life, March 12, 2015 in Osage Beach, Missouri. On May 17, 1958, he was united in marriage to Carol Joan Bayard and to this union three children were born. Together they shared fifty-six years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife, Carol Schultz and daughter Carol Schultz, both of Camdenton, Missouri; two sons, Donald and his wife, Giselle of Newport News, Virginia, and Robert and his wife, Rebel, of Crocker, Missouri; ten grandchildren; Megan, Devin, Jonas, Riley, Nicolette, Matthew, Robert, Rebecca, Mary and many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, cousins and friends. Don was raised and lived in New Jersey for most of his life and attended Rutgers and Northwestern Universities. He was employed as an Electrical Engineer throughout his career and Consultant Engineer before retiring. He was proud to have served in the US Navy and Air Force during the Korean War, earning the rank of Tech Sergeant and is a member of the American Legion. He was a faithful member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, serving as a member of the Church Council. He enjoyed traveling with his family, visiting thirty-three countries and especially enjoyed visiting various states with his Air Force reunion group and semiannual trips to his “home away from home” in Aruba. In 2010, following his son’s retirement from Ft. Leonard Wood, Robert invited them to spend their remaining years at the lake. It has been a highlight of their lives. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure his generous nature, good humor and the memories he created. He will be greatly missed and our love goes with him, but there are far, far better things ahead than any he leaves behind. Life never ends it only changes. So we give him back to you, dear Lord, who first gave him to us and as you did not lose him in the giving, we will not lose him in the return. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2015 in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Camdenton under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Ft. Leonard Wood. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home with American Legion Rites at 6:30 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, Donald had asked that gifts of condolence be sent to the Samaritan Fund of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. They may be left at the funeral home of the church the day of the service. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
