Donald Pearl Pettis, Jr.

Donald Pearl Pettis Jr.,64, of Gravois Mills, Missouri, passed away on August 15, 2022, following a hard-fought battle against lung cancer in Gravois Mills, Missouri. Donald was preceded in passing by his parents, Donald Pearl Pettis, Sr. and Irene Bartlett. Donald is survived by his wife, Debra Pettis of the home; one brother, Daniel Ray Pettis; six step-children, Dianna, John, Marisa, Nicholas, Emily and Jakob; seven grandchildren, Kacie, Emma, Avarey, Bryson, Canaan, Rilynn and Penelope. Donald was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. Je joined the miliary at age eighteen and was the recipient of the Navy and Marine Corps Medals for Heroism. Donald was awarded this medal for risking his life to save four others who would have died without his assistance. He lived the last twelve years of his life with his loving wife in Gravois Mills, Missouri. He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for many years and will be greatly missed by his family. A funeral service was held on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at the 2 p.m., at the Gravois Mills United Methodist Church, 437 Valley Rd., Gravois Mills, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
