DONNA DENNY Donna Rae Denny, daughter of Donald and Ruby Mae Moore Allen, was born on October 9, 1953 in Lebanon, Missouri and departed this life to enter the gates of Heaven on September 20th, 2015 at her home near Eldridge, Missouri, at the age of 61. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by family. Donna was saved in 1971 and baptized by Joel Grimes. She was a faithful member of Webster Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She served as God’s faithful servant in so many ways. She spent countless hours preparing and presenting Sunday School lessons, fixing and serving meals for the sick, and visiting her church family. She was a wonderful example of a Christian woman. The fellowship and prayers from her church family were precious to her. On January 2, 1972, Donna was united in marriage with the love of her life, Larry Denny. To this union was born 2 children. Prior to her passing, Donna and Larry celebrated 43 years of love and laughter together. Donna attended Kapp School through 8th grade and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1971. Donna was no stranger to hard work. She worked in the school system for over 31 years before she retired in 2007. During that time she had a positive impact on the lives of so many. Donna is in Heaven playing cards with her dad, Don; drinking coffee with her Grandma Moore, and rocking her grandson, William R. Spradling. Survivors include her husband, Larry; one daughter, Rebekah Spradling and her husband Jason of Phillipsburg, Missouri; one son, Brent Denny and his fiancé Rhea Chaffin of Eldridge, Missouri; her mother, Ruby Allen of Lebanon; two brothers, Doug Allen of Lebanon, Missouri and Arthur Allen and his wife Carla of New Franklin, Missouri; one sister, Charlotte Prater and her husband Richard of Buffalo, Missouri; precious grandchildren, Chelsey, Austin, Michael, Brock, and Saleena, Shannon, Wesley, Wyatt; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. She enjoyed so many things in life. Her hobbies included quilting, doing embroidery work, raising flowers, reading and family get togethers. Traveling with her husband, playing cards, going to garage sales, and creating edible works of art were also things she loved to have fun with. She was an avid Pittsburg Stealers fan that was not to be interrupted during the games. However her greatest hobby was being in the cheerleading section of anything her children or grandchildren were involved in. She was an amazing encourager during doubt and celebrator during success. Her ears were always there to listen, her shoulder was always there to cry on, but most importantly her heart was always there to love. Donna was a devoted wife, amazing mother, and loving grandma. She was a cherished daughter, loyal sister and aunt. She was a caring neighbor and friend. Although we know she left us too soon, we know that her memory will live on forever in our hearts. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 24, 2015 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Ira Cemetery, Eldridge. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the family and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
