Dora Stidham

DORA STIDHAM Dora May Stidham, daughter of George and Grace Harmon Barclay, was born, March 16, 1921 in Lead Mine, Missouri. She departed this life, Monday, November 28, 2011, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of ninety years, eight months and twelve days. On April 20, 1942 in Buffalo, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Glen Forrest Stidham and to this union three sons were born. Together they shared fifty-three years of marriage until his passing on March 26, 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Devan Stidham; a brother, Don Barclay and a sister, Dona Whitworth. Survivors include her sons, Forrest Stidham and Wendell Stidham both of Camdenton, Missouri and Stanley Stidham of Montreal, Missouri; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and other relatives and many friends. Dora was raised in Dallas County, Missouri and attended Tunas School. After her marriage they resided in Long Beach, California before returning to the Tunas area. She lived there until moving to Camdenton in 1972. She was a help-mate to her husband, a homemaker and lovingly raised her sons. Dora made a profession of faith and was a member of Hopewell Freewill Baptist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and cooking. Most of all, spending time with her family was her favorite thing. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 2, 2011 in Hopewell Freewill Baptist Church, Tunas under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. in the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
