Dorothy B. Smith

Dorothy B. Smith, 90, of Eldridge, died Saturday, May 5, 2018. She married Andrew Nowell Smith, who preceded her in death. Dorothy spent many hours in community service work in Laclede County. Among those was as a volunteer tutor and a sponsor of the Eldridge Fire Department. She also was associated with the Lebanon Area Foundation, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Mayflower Society and the Missouri Pilots Association. Dorothy was trained in the medical field and later pursued her lifelong passion as a farmer while a resident of Missouri. She is survived by her children, Barbara Smith-Townsend, of San Antonio, Texas; Ellie Smith, of Lebanon; Theodore Townsend Smith II, of Guilford, Ct. and Judith Smith, of Eldridge. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Lebanon-Laclede County Library from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Lebanon Area Foundation or the charity of one's choice.
