Dorothy Mae Osborn-Ellis

Dorothy Mae Osborn-Ellis, daughter of Omer Elliott and Leona (Parrack) Elliott was born, May 12, 1932 in Macks Creek, Missouri. She departed this life January 2, 2023, in Autumn Oaks Care Center in Mountain Grove, Missouri at the age of ninety years, seven months and twenty-one days.


On October 23, 1948 in a little country home before Preacher Willard Green, Dorothy united in marriage to Roy A. Osborn and to this union three children were born. Together they shared forty years of marriage until Roy’s passing in 1988.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Osborn; one daughter, Norma J. Kinney: and one brother, Otto Elliott.


She is survived by two daughters, Carla Lynn & husband Leon of Hartville, Missouri, Emma North & husband Albert of Camdenton, Missouri; ten grandchildren, LeeAnn Dority & husband Michael, Karie Lynn, Carla Lynn, Rebecca Lynn, Johnny Lynn & wife Ralissa, Dakota Lynn, Denver Lynn, Lara Vaughn & husband Larry, Michael Kinney & wife Mary, and James Kinney; and twenty great-grandchildren. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Dorothy was raised in Macks Creek, Missouri and graduated from the old Ragg School House in Macks Creek. After being wed to the love of her life Roy, they started a family and Dorothy worked manufacturing air conditioning parts at Dawson’s in Camdenton, Missouri for several years along with being an excellent and loving wife, and mother.


On November 21, 1945 Dorothy made a profession of faith and was baptized as a member of Lower Prairie Hollow Baptist Church in Macks Creek, Missouri.


In her spare time Dorothy loved flower gardening, and gardening her own vegetables. Most of all she cherished and loved being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family defined who she was as she loved each one of them greatly.

Dorothy was a loving and a caring, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends.


Burial services will be held at 10:00am, Monday, January 9, 2023 in the Parrack Grove Cemetery, Macks Creek, Missouri.


Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
