Edward Charles Evers, son of Joseph and Helen, was born November 15, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri. He departed this life December 27, 2024 in Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of eighty-six years, one month and twelve days.
On September 9, 1965 he was united in marriage to Susan Vietmeier and to this union two children were born. Together they shared 50 years of marriage, until Susan’s passing in 2016.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Susan; Son, Michael Evers; grandsons, Joshua and Jordan Floyd; mother-in law and father-in-law, Gus and Margaret Vietmeier.
He is survived by his daughter, Tina Floyd and husband Todd of Eldon, Missouri; grandchildren, Jeff, Tony, Faith, and Hope; great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Malakai, Maya, and Emoree; brother, Tom Evers and wife Martha; sister-in-law, Pat Thomas; brother-in-law, Harry Thomas; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Edward was raised in St. Louis and graduated from Central High School in 1957. He and Susan moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in 2001.
Edward worked at Bussman Fuse from 1958 until 1966, with a break in between due to being drafted, where he proudly served in the United Sates Army from 1961 to 1963. He graduated from the Missouri State Highway Patrol Academy in 1967 and was a Police Officer from 1966 to 1997, working in areas surrounding St. Louis, Missouri.
He kept busy as an Elks Lodge # 2517 member for 28 years, serving on the Riverview Garden High School Board in St. Louis and volunteering at the Hospital for 10 plus years.
In his spare time, he enjoyed watching soccer, the Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, Mash, Andy Griffith Show, girl’s softball and youth baseball. Edward also enjoyed playing Solitaire, scratchers and reading seek and find books. He loved Imo’s Pizza, Wings, Stag Beer, collecting Eagles and had the biggest sweet tooth.
He was a loving and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2025 at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. Burial will take place following the services in Allee Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
