Edward Lee Bryant, son of James L. Bryant and Betty Beaman Bryant was born September 6, 1928 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He departed this life, October 22, 2022, in Windsor Estates Care Center, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of ninety-four years, one months and sixteen days.
On December 28, 1952 he was united in marriage to Barbara Root and to this union two children were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Barbara; one brother, James Bryant and his sister-in-law, Jean Bryant.
He is survived by his daughter, Ronda Arnold & husband Ross; son, Brad Bryant & wife Danna; four grandchildren, Gena & Jon O’Leary, Paul Strauser, Dustin Bryant, and Chelsea Bryant; six great-grandchildren, Jaren Risner, Tori Risner, Aiden Risner, Eli Bryant, Cashton Bryant and Zoe O’Leary. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Edward was raised in Kansas City, Missouri and attended Central High School before joining the Coast Guard during World War II. After serving his country Edward would begin his career in construction, owning and operating Bryant Construction until his retirement. Edward would meet the love of his life Barbara while performing with the USO and start their family prior to moving to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1959. While at Lake of the Ozarks, he built their own resort and had the Red Apple Restaurant in Sunrise Beach, Missouri while operating his construction business.
Edward made a profession of faith and was a member of Kent Memorial Lutheran Church of Sunrise Beach, Missouri.
In his spare time Edward loved singing, a good card game, boating on the lake along with running his beloved trout lines in hopes of catching enough catfish for a fish fry. Edward was a member of the VFW, Lions Club, the Sunrise Beach Little Theatre and the Easter Pageant.
He lived an adventurous life and was a beloved story teller. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00a.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Allee Memorial Gardens, Camdenton.
Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home and are incomplete at this time.
