EDWARD JAMES MELVILLE Edward James Melville, son Albert F. and Goldie Wilson Melville, was born, February 27, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri. He departed this life, Friday, May 25, 2012, in Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of sixty-nine years, two months and twenty-eight days. On December 7, 1987 in Camdenton, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Janet Marie Schott. Together they shared twenty-three years of marriage until her passing on March 26, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his mother, Goldie Montoya of Kansas City, Missouri; a brother Rick Melville of Kansas City, Missouri; four step-children, Michael Corwin and wife Rhonda of Kansas City, Missouri, Matt Corwin and wife Sharon of St. Joseph, Missouri, Mitch Corwin and wife Machelle of St. Joseph, Missouri and Mindy Brown of Rock Port, Missouri; eleven step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Edward was raised in Kansas City and was a graduate of Paseo High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United State Marine Corp. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged as a Sergeant, he returned to Kansas City. He worked various jobs there. He moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in the early 1980's. He attended culinary school and became a Chef at several restaurants in the lake area. Edward was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Camdenton. He was also a member of the Knight of Columbus, Council 10381 in Laurie and the Zack Wheat American Legion Post 624. Fishing was by far his favorite past time. He also enjoyed doing woodwork and made many bird houses throughout the years. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 31, 2012 in St. Patrick's Cemetery under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Knight of Columbus and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
